| Being Unloved Is Like Not Flying |

I'm certainly not a bird watcher, but enjoy feeding them for the winter. One thing I've noticed about most birds, is their ability to fly. Here's my stunning conclusion. Most birds were created to fly. As a matter of fact, a grounded bird is an abnormality. Last spring an energetic robin decided to build her nest on a beam, which held up the roof of my deck. I tore it apart to discourage her and went away for a couple of days. Much to my chagrin the nest reappeared, but this time it had eggs in it. I decided to allow the inconvenience for the present. A few weeks later, you could hear the chirping of the new little baby robins. On one occasion, we noticed a little baby had fallen out of the nest. My, daughter-in-law felt bad, donned some work gloves, picked the little birdie up and put it back into the nest. A few days late,r another little baby had fallen out of the nest. I decided to leave it alone. And, a few hours later it was gone--but, so were the others. It was time to fly and leave the nest. A grounded bird is a limitation--something is wrong. If the little baby robin had spent last summer on my deck, simply walking around, it would have been grounded within its ability to fly. A bird is created to fly, not walk around on my deck! We as humans were created to be loved by God. So, if you live your life, as if you are unloved by God, you are living a grounded life. You were meant to fly--your unloved living limits you from truly experiencing the wonder of being a child of God. And that is something to think about. |
